I was hesitant at first but the Nuke-Box is so easy to use. It only takes seconds to get the gauge in and out of the container. Thank you!
Senior Field Tech, San Diego
No more chains to wrap around the gauge handles plus it complies with the company radiation license. That makes me feel good knowing I am following the rules.
Kaela, Field Technician
I have gotten many compliments from contractors in the field for Nuke-Box, it looks nice in the back of my truck. I love the option of removing it for extra space on the weekends.
Raymon H, Engineer
I have used both types of containers and hands down Nuke-Box is the best. I don't have to lift using an awkward handle. The gauge slides in and out. Installation only took minutes.
Noel, Field Inspector
Q: Why did you invent this system rather than buying what's on the market?
A: Cost. Your company can save hundreds of dollars while still conforming to the rules.
Q: Do other nuclear gauge container systems comply?
A: The container system should have 2 independent locks on the lid or door to prevent gaining access to the nuclear gauge. If there is only one lock on the door or lid than you are in violation of the rules according to the NRC. Nuke-Box is equipped with a double lock system.
Q: Is Nuke-Box for overnight storage of the gauge?
A: NO! The box is designed to hide your nuclear gauge from the public while in transport. It is designed to get your gauge to the job site and back to the office. The container will keep your gauge from sliding around the bed of the truck or prevent it from falling out. Follow your company radiation license for proper overnight storage.
Q: Do you need to lift your gauge with a handle?
A: No. No more unnecessary lifting. Just slide the gauge in and out. Work off the tailgate.
Q: Do you need to drill holes into your nuclear gauge container?
A: No. The gauge container does not need to be damaged by drilling. Drilling holes into the Type A package will invalidate the original design. The drilled holes will not make it a Type A package. Just slide the gauge box into the Nuke-Box and slide it out.
Q: Can someone unscrew the box from the outside?
A: No. There is no access to your gauge unless the 2 independent locks required by the NRC are broken. Nuke-Box recommends the shrouded type lock by Master Lock (not included). These locks will prevent cutting or prying. They can be purchased at any hardware store. New tamper resistant nuts have been added to the design of the Nuke-Box for additional security.
Q: Why does Nuke-Box conform?
A: While in transport the nuclear gauge handle must be locked, the gauge box should be double locked and the Nuke-Box has two independent locks attached to the frame of the vehicle. Also your vehicle should have a secondary security system such as an alarm or club device.
Q: Why do you use 16 gauge aluminum, why not use thicker aluminum?
A: Nuke-Box does not take any abuse from lifting up and down like other containers, thickness is not an issue. The thickness is strong enough for it's intended use, plus it saves your company money.
Q: Is Nuke-Box a tax deductible business expense?
A: Nuke-Box is field equipment used in the daily operation of business. Please consult your accounting department or tax consultant.
Q: How do I place an order?
A: Shop using our New Online Store or Fill out the Order Form and click submit. Once your form is received you will be contacted by our customer service department within 24 hours with order confirmation. Order today!
Q: What companies use your product?
A: Nuke-Box is being used by DOT's and private engineering labs all across the U.S.A.
